Leicester City Primary Heads (CPH) is a self managing organisation with a formal constitution. All primary school headteachers are considered to be members of City Primary Headteachers. This includes all schools within the maintained sector with children of primary age. The overarching aim of CPH is to support the provision of effective and dynamic education in Leicester City. CPH takes collective responsibility for all the primary children of Leicester City. It provides a forum for discussion of the views of Primary Headteachers and provides a means by which those views can influence decisions relating to the provision of education in Leicester. CPH works closely with other partners to ensure effective provision across the city and across the different phases of education. It work complements and adds to that of the Children and Young People’s Service.
For 2009 - 2010 CPH currently has two co chairs Jane Ridgewell from Highfields Primary and Judy O'Connor from Charnwood Primary. The position of Vice Chair is vacant. CPH employs a full time Strategic Primary Lead Headteacher who represents them at local level. This is Pam Weston.
