Jawahir A. Farah is the author of several
Somali-English bilingual books for primary school
aged children.
Jawahir was the first Somali teacher in the London
borough of Ealing. Since 1990, Jawahir has taught refugee children of
all ages. Jawahir's teaching experiences and the lack of the
availability of Somali book resources for children encouraged her to
write. This led her to develop resources that enhance the
reading of Somali children.
Jawahir's storytelling sessions are unforgettable
exciting event for children!
"The books are very nice and I

What
our customers say...

"The books were lovely and they were all borrowed
on the first day and there is still a long waiting list."
(Small
Heath School and Sixth Form, Birmingham)
"Good
to know that such books were available. I wish these were available
in schools and public libraries. These books reflect on what goes in
our everyday lives. In particular,I love reading Nomad Diaries and I
would recommend all the list!" (Yasmin, Year
11, Crest Girls Academy, London)
"I absolutely love the
books. I rarely borrow from the school's library. However, these
books are amazing that ever since they were available, I read all of
them." (Dona, Year 9,
Babington Community and Technology College, Leicester)
