Leicester City Primary Heads (CPH) is a self managing organisation with a formal constitution. All primary school headteachers are considered to be members of City Primary Headteachers. This includes all schools within the maintained sector with children of primary age. The overarching aim of CPH is to support the provision of effective and dynamic education in Leicester City. CPH takes collective responsibility for all the primary children of Leicester City. It provides a forum for discussion of the views of Primary Headteachers and provides a means by which those views can influence decisions relating to the provision of education in Leicester. CPH works closely with other partners to ensure effective provision across the city and across the different phases of education. It work complements and adds to that of the Children and Young People’s Service.
For 2009 - 2010 CPH currently has two co chairs Mark Ingham from Uplands Infants is one and the other is Andrew Marshall from St John's. The post of Vice Chair is currently occupied by Gillian Blatherwick from Hazel and Trudy Lower from Green lane. Jane ridgewell, immediate past chair attends many meetings on behalf of CPH and is still a member of the officers' group.
